Mr. Sorensenasked the Minister of Health what is the number and percentage of girls of overseas Commonwealth and foreign birth, respectively, who are training as nurses in British hospitals; how many are State registered nurses; how many have not finished their training in the last three years; and how many have left the hospital service annually in the last three years.

Mrs. Castleasked the Minister of Health what steps he is taking to ensure that hospital authorities implement the 140W recommendations of the Nurses' and Midwives' Whitley Council that they should reduce the hours of duty of nurses and midwives to 84 per fortnight within two years; and if he will issue guidance as to local consultation with representative bodies of the staff involved.
