HC Deb 17 February 1964 vol 689 cc151-2W
86. Sir C. Osborne

asked the Minister of Labour if he is aware that an officially sponsored go-slow policy by the printing trade unions is preventing over 3,000,000 Daily Mirror and 50,000 Daily Herald newspapers being produced, in support of the union's demand that no regular or regular casual workers be declared redundant; what action he is taking to end this trade dispute and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Godber

The unofficial ban on overtime by members of the National Union of Printing, Bookbinding and Paper Workers which affected the distribution of theDaily Mirror and the Daily Herald last week has ended. There have been discussions between the International Publishing Corporation and the union about the matters in dispute.
