Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Minister of Labour whether he will arrange that the terms of reference for his proposed inquiry into trade unions and employers' associations should be wide enough to include an investigation into donations and contributions which these organisations have made and are making to political and quasi-political organisations.

§ Mr. Freesonasked the Minister of Labour whether he will introduce legislation to make it obligatory for firms to recognise the negotiating rights of unions to which their employees belong.
