HC Deb 22 November 1963 vol 684 c154W
Mr. Dempsey

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what provision he is at present making for additional geriatric beds and the upgrading of existing inadequate wards; and what plans he has for improving geriatric hospital facilities in the next three years.

Mr. Noble

Schemes now in progress will provide 284 additional beds and schemes to be started in the next three years will provide a further 672 beds. As part of their delegated responsibilities regional hospital boards are carrying out ward improvements at a number of existing geriatric hospitals.
