HC Deb 21 November 1963 vol 684 c141W
Mr. W. Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in view of the military impracticability and the political dangers inherent in the concept of a mixed-manned nuclear force, he will announce the immediate withdrawal of Her Majesty's Government from discussions about this proposal.

Mr. R. A. Butler

No. As I said in the debate on the Address on 15th November we are not in any way committed to participate in a mixed-manned force. What we have done is to agree to take part in an objective examination of the project in all its aspects and possible variations.
