§ Sir W. Bromley-Davenportasked the Minister of Transport, in view of the fact that motorways will have been completed at an average of 60 miles a year in the five years ending December, 1963, why the rate of completion is to fall to 40 miles a year in the five years ending 1968.
§ Mr. MarplesThe average completion rate in the five years ending December, 1968, is in fact expected to be about 60 miles per annum. We aim to have over 500 miles of motorway in use by the Spring of 1968 and to add to this before the end of that year.
§ Sir W. Bromley-Davenportasked the Minister of Transport if he will state, giving the mileage in respect of each, those motorways or lengths of motorway for which no line had yet been proposed,. a draft scheme had been published, a scheme had been made, tenders had been invited, a contract had 92W been placed, which were under construction, and which were in use, respectively, as at 31st October.
