HC Deb 20 November 1963 vol 684 cc105-6W
Sir Knox Cunningham

asked the Minister of Aviation what steps he is taking to improve the handling of incoming passenger luggage at the civil airport at Aldergrove, County Antrim, so as to remove the bottleneck at the point of collection by the owners.

Mr. Marten

The present congestion in the Baggage Claim Hall at Belfast (Aldergrove) Airport is caused by the unexpectedly large number of people who meet arriving passengers and accompany them to collect their baggage. This may be only a temporary phenomenon; the problem is being studied urgently and I hope very soon to introduce revised arrangements which will overcome the present difficulty.
