HC Deb 19 November 1963 vol 684 c64W
34. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what representations he has received in respect of danger arising from paraffin-vending machines; and why he allowed appeals in August against the decision of a local authority.

Mr. Corfield

None, apart from the letter which the hon. Membersent to my right hon. Friend on 14th October and which was answered on 29th October. As to the second part of the Question, he allowed the appeals because he had evidence that the machines are not inherently dangerous, and because he saw no objections on planning grounds to the proposals.
