§ 35. Mr. G. Thomasasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what advice he has tendered the Cardiff City Council in connection with the repayments of mortgages to them by owner-occupiers whose property will be demolished under a clearance order approved by him.
§ Sir K. JosephThe Council has been informed that if it decides to makeex gratia payments in cases of hardship I shall be prepared to issue loan sanction for the expenditure. The council was also asked to consider mitigating hardship through adjustment in the rent of the alternative accommodation which it is bound to offer to the persons affected.
