HL Deb 19 November 1963 vol 253 c323WA
LORD MANCROFT

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will say with whom rests the responsibility for not replacing in front of King's Cross Station the clutter of small shops which has hitherto ruined the view of Cubitt's façade.

LORD CHESHAM

The British Railways Board, as owners of the land on which these shops stood, would be responsible for making any plans for its future, in consultation as appropriate with the Royal Fine Art Commission and other interested bodies. The local planning authority, which is the London County Council, would be responsible for approving any such plans which entailed development of the land.
