§ Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many letters he has received concerning his policy providing that three-year trained teachers in Scotland are paid £100 per annum less than their English colleagues of equal training, duties and responsibilities; what replies he has sent; and what steps he is taking to remove this disparity.
§ Mr. NobleTen. These letters have been acknowledged and will be treated as representations on the draft Salaries Regulations. They will be considered along with any other representations received before 23rd June, that is within 40 days of the publication of the draft. Until all the representations have been considered, I cannot say what the final decision will be.
