§ Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Scotland why Alexander Adamson, of Wick, was charged on 15th May before a Scottish Court with fishing within the three-mile limit of the East coast of Scotland; and if he will make a statement on the consequences of that prosecution on the Scottish fishing industry.
§ Mr. NobleSkipper Adamson was charged with using a seine net within the exclusive fishery limits in contravention of Byelaw No. 17 and at the hearing on 15th May he pleaded guilty. He was, however, admonished because, I understand, of mitigating circumstances. I am not aware of any special consequences for the Scottish fishing industry.
