HC Deb 28 March 1963 vol 674 cc177-8W
73. Mr. Diamond

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department

of those people sent for Borstal training under a variable sentence, what percentage were released after having served 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21 and 24 months of their sentence.

Miss Pike

For persons discharged in 1962, after serving a sentence of borstal training, the periods served from date of sentence to discharge were as follows:

whether, in view of the effect of the hard winter upon bird life in the British Isles, he will take early action to repeal or amend the Wild Birds (Eggs of Common Birds) Order 1955 so as to protect various harmless species of birds.

Mr. Woodhouse

My right hon. Friend is considering this matter urgently in the light of the views expressed at the meeting yesterday of the Advisory Committee on the Protection of Birds for England and Wales.
