HC Deb 28 March 1963 vol 674 cc180-1W
83. Mr. Shinwell

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs whether he is aware that tenants of houses in Peterlee have decided to ask the Peterlee Corporation to defer consideration of the proposed rent increase for six months because of the high rate of unemployment in the town; and whether he will support this proposal.

Sir K. Joseph

I am aware that a resolution to this effect was passed at a meeting in Peterlee on 23rd March and has been sent to the development corporation. This is a matter for them to consider.
