HC Deb 28 March 1963 vol 674 c176W
67. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many prosecutions there have been in the Metropolitan Police area for offences of car owners who have left their vehicles outside their office, shop or dwelling place beyond permissive meter times; and what representations have been made to him in respect of this problem and the hardship involved.

Mr. Woodhouse

The statistics do not distinguish between vehicles belonging to occupants of premises adjacent to parking meters and other vehicles. The information requested in the first part of the Question is therefore not available. I am informed by the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis that while complaints were received from residents in the metered zones when the meter schemes were first announced, very few have complained to the police recently about the period for which they may park at a meter.
