HC Deb 28 March 1963 vol 674 cc175-6W
66. Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations he has received from the Chigwell Urban District Council and the Essex County Council on the future boundaries of the metropolitan district; and what replies he has sent.

Mr. Woodhouse

Both councils have represented to my right hon. Friend that the Metropolitan Police District should be altered so as to exclude parts of their areas which are not to be included in Greater London. When the London Government Bill was introduced, my right hon. Friend informed the councils of his view that the Bill should not alter the police boundary in these areas. He subsequently undertook that their representations would be borne in mind in the course of the further consideration of the Bill in Parliament.
