HC Deb 27 March 1963 vol 674 c158W
61. Mr. J. Hill

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware of the number of trained physiotherapists who have left the hospital service recently because of the inadequacy of their salaries; and if he will make an improvement in salaries in this field.

Mr. Noble

The hospital service provides the initial training and experience for most physiotherapists. Some movement from it to other employment is therefore to be expected. New salary scales, announced last month, increased salaries generally by 7½ per cent. as from 1st July, 1962, and gave additional increases to physiotherapy teachers and to those on the maxima of the scales.
