HC Deb 27 March 1963 vol 674 c155W
55. Mr. Hector Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware that Aberdeen Harbour Board in consultation with the Board of Trade recently delegated its General Manager and Secretary to collect information in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and West Germany with a view to enlarging Aberdeen Harbour, providing facilities for building larger ships, and developing international trade with Aberdeen; and what steps he has taken to avail himself of this information as a matter of urgency in view of the increasing unemployment in North-East Scotland.

Mr. Noble

I am aware of this visit, the purpose of which was to develop trade between these ports and Aberdeen. I am confident the Harbour Board will miss no opportunity to develop further trade. The Board of Trade is very willing to help it with this.
