HC Deb 26 March 1963 vol 674 c144W
Mr. Wainwright

asked the Postmaster-General how much has been spent in each of the past four years to improve the facilities for trunk calls in the Yorkshire area.

Mr. Bevins

The figures are not available in the required form, but about £800,000 was spent on trunk plant in Yorkshire during 1959–60 and about £1,000,000 was spent in each of the following three years. In addition, over £500,000 was spent in the four years on telecommunications buildings for trunk service needs.
