HC Deb 26 March 1963 vol 674 c141W
54. Mr. Grimond

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what has been the effect of the agreement entered into between Her Majesty's Government and the South African Government upon the Swaziland sugar industry.

Mr. Sandys

I have no reason to suppose that the Swaziland sugar industry has been adversely affected. By the end of the crop year next month, the first crop year since the Agreement came into force, Swaziland expects to have sold through the South African Sugar Association nearly 4,000 tons of sugar more than the 80,000 tons a year provided for under previous arrangements.
