§ Sir S. Summersasked the Minister of Education (1) how many local education authorities operate a system whereby the marks earned in the 11-plus examination are adjusted to take account of the age of the children participating in the examination;
(2) whether those local education authorities who operate a system under which the marks earned in the 11-plus examination are adjusted to take account of the age of the participants do so with the approval of his Department.
§ Sir E. BoyleLocal education authorities' secondary school selection arrangements do not require my approval; but, so far as I am aware, all authorities make allowances for age.
