§ Mr. Farrasked the Minister of Transport when it is proposed to start work on the northern portion of the Wigston bypass, from Leicester Road to Oadby Road.
§ Mr. MarplesThe Wigston bypass will be a classified road scheme, for which the Leicestershire County Council will be the highway authority. Both the council and I regard other schemes in Leicestershire as having a higher priority than this one and it is too soon to say when work on any part of it will be able to start. The county development plan envisages construction of the bypass in the period 1971–81.
