§ 14. Mr. Hoosonasked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the deadlock in the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade talks on trade in agricultural products, which is having adverse effects on the proposals for tariff negotiations in industrial products, he will take a new initiative to obtain world commodity agreements.
§ Mr. ErrollNo, I do not think this necessary. At the G.A.T.T. meeting in May, Ministers set in train further work on preparations for the Kennedy Round negotiations on both agricultural and industrial products. Groups concerned with cereals and meat have already met with a view to negotiating international arrangements in world markets for these commodities and will meet again in the autumn. A similar group on dairy products is to be set up.
