HC Deb 23 July 1963 vol 681 c146W
28. Mr. Loveys

asked the Postmaster-General what plans are being made to improve British Broadcasting Corporation television reception on the South Coast.

Mr. Bevins

The B.B.C. hope to open low-power satellite television stations by the end of next year to serve Bexhill and Eastbourne. In addition, international agreement has been obtained for an increase in the transmitted power of the Hastings and Folkestone stations as from 1st August. In some directions the increase in power will be five or six times.
