asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs how many evicted or homeless families are now in temporary accommodation in the county of Essex, compared with one year and five years ago; and what is the average period families remain in such temporary accommodation before they are rehoused.

The answer to the first part of the Question is 113 families compared with 96 in 1962 and 106 in 1958. The answer to the second part is, between 5 and 6 months.
