HC Deb 17 July 1963 vol 681 c55W
50. Mr. Kitson

asked the Minister of Transport if he is satisfied with the signs used on the Wetherby By-pass advertising Wetherby as a service centre; and whether he will now use these signs for other service centres on A.1.

Mr. Galbraith

The Worboys Committee's Report recommends that road traffic signs should not be used for advertising facilities in by-passed towns, which should be indicated, when necessary, by advertisements off the highway.

Although my right hon. Friend has accepted generally the Committee's recommendations, this is a particular point which requires further examination. I will write to my hon. Friend as soon as possible.
