§ 58. Mr. Sorensenasked the Minister of Transport what further progress has been made in respect of roadway reconstruction in order to deal with increasing traffic congestion in the Borough of Leyton; and what is the result of the latest traffic census in High Road, Leytonstone, compared with a previous census.
§ Mr. GalbraithNegotiations have been completed, or are in progress, for 67 of the houses to be demolished for the 57W Eastern Avenue extension. Otherwise the position is as stated in reply to the hon. Member's Question on 8th May.
Traffic censuses were taken in the High Street on single days in June, 1963, and January, 1961, for specific traffic management purposes. So far as these results can be compared, they show no abnormal traffic increase.
