Mr. Callaghan

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimates he has made of the loss of revenue to the Exchequer resulting from tax concessions to overseas trading corporations in each financial year since 1957–58.

Mr. Maudling

The estimated cost to the Revenue for the financial years 1957–58, 1958–59, 1959–60. 1960–61 and 1961–62 is £13 million, £17 million, £15 million, £10 million and £11 million, respectively. The last figure is highly provisional.
