Mr. Wainwrightasked the Minister of Labour if he is aware that the number of school-leavers in the Dearne Valley constituency area who have been unable to obtain employment has increased over the past 12 months; and if he will make a statement of the plans he has prepared so that suitable jobs will be forthcoming for these boys and girls.
§ Mr. WhitelawYes. Out of 578 Christmas school-leavers in the constituency, 136 remained registered for employment on 14th January, and the Youth Employment Service is making every effort to find them suitable employment.
