§ Mr. du CannAbout 9,500 jobs have been lost in Scotland in the first nine months of 1963 through industrial closures. About 40,000 new jobs are estimated to have been provided in the development districts in Scotland under the provisions of the Local Employment Acts but I cannot say how many of those arose in the period.
