HC Deb 04 December 1963 vol 685 c193W
105. Sir D. Robertson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland why repairs to Reay Public School, contracted for in the spring, remain unfinished this winter, to the detriment of the health of the pupils;and why alternative accommodation has not been made available.

Mr. Noble

Caithness Education Authority expected the major part of the repairs to be completed during the summer holiday, but work has been held up mainly because materials have not been delivered on time. I am informed by the authority that the accommodation occupied by the pupils is now wind- and weather-tight. Alternative accommodation was considered, but the authority took the view that education would suffer from the move.
