HC Deb 04 December 1963 vol 685 c186W
Mr. Awbery

asked the Minister of Transport if he is aware of the annoyance caused to people living in residential areas by the parking of heavy commercial vehicles in the early hours of the morning near warehouses and similar premises; and if he will introduce legislation to control such practices.

Mr. Marples

This is essentially a local problem, calling for consideration of what is desirable and practicable locally. Local authorities already have power under the Road Traffic Act, 1960. to restrict such parking on roads outside the London traffic area.
