§ Sir J. Edenasked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware of the long delay in securing an appointment for a driving test in the Bournemouth area; and whether he will increase the number of examiners at the Bournemouth test centre in order to reduce the waiting period.
§ Mr. MarplesYes. The waiting period for a driving test in the Bournemouth area is much longer than I would wish. The driving examiner staff there is under strength but we are posting another examiner to the test centre on 30th December. Meanwhile, we have been providing examiners from other centres to help reduce the waiting period at Bournemouth.
