§ Mr. Warbeyasked the Lord Privy Seal what steps Her Majesty's Government propose to take, in accordance with Article 25 of the United Nations Charter, to carry out the decision of the Security Council regarding the banning of the supply of arms to Portugal.
§ Mr. HeathHer Majesty's Government will continue to adhere to the policy described by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister in reply to Questions on 27th June, 1961, when he said
In deciding whether to negotiate a sale or to grant a licence for the export of military equipment to Portugal, we have to consider her reasonable military requirements as a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation ally.
