§ Mr. Masonasked the First Secretary of State whether any detailed decisions have yet been taken regarding the spending of the British loan to Nyasaland; and if he will now give an assurance that none of it will be used by the Nyasaland Government for a State-owned and controlled broadcasting station and national newspaper.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerCertain projects have been approved for grants, but no detailed decisions have been reached on the use of loan funds. I cannot therefore commit myself as regards the two schemes mentioned at this stage.
