asked the Minister of Transport when construction will start on M.6 from Dunston to M.1 at Catthorpe.

Mr. Marples

Work is expected to start on the first eight miles of this motorway from Dunston to Shareshill by the early summer of next year. Construction of further stages will be undertaken as quickly as the completion of statutory and other preparatory processes, the acquisition of land and the availability of funds will permit.
