HC Deb 25 October 1962 vol 664 cc219-20W
Mr. W. Wells

asked the Minister of Transport what is the present position with regard to constructing the D-Ring road in Hertfordshire.

Mr. Marples

Of the sections of the D-Ring Road in Hertfordshire I attach great importance to the 3 mile section from the county boundary at Oxhey to A.41. This is protected in the County Development Plan, but extensive residential development in Middlesex may make some alteration to the line necessary. I will make an announcement as soon as possible.

The section from A.41 to the Barnet By-pass is of less traffic value and has not so far found a place in my current Trunk Road Programme.

A third section runs very close to or along the county boundary from A.1 to A.11 and I hope to publish the necessary Orders under the Highways Act, 1959, early next year.
