§ Mr. BarberThe proposed increase in the investment allowances for capital expenditure on new plant and machinery incurred after 5th November will apply to such expenditure incurred for the purposes of any trade, including the hotel and catering industries. The proposed increase in the investment allowance for new industrial buildings will not affect these industries. My right hon. Friend has not proposed any change in the initial allowances.
