HC Deb 21 May 1962 vol 660 c11W
61. Mr. Callaghan

asked the Minister of Aviation if Her Majesty's Government will investigate the source of the two major explosions which shook a number of houses in Cardiff at about 3.45 p.m. on Wednesday, 9th May.

Mr. Thorneycroft:

It seems probable that they were caused by an aircraft flying through the sound barrier over South Wales for research and development purposes.
