§ 41. Dame Irene Wardasked the Civil Lord of the Admiralty on what competitive basis tenders for atomic submarines will be judged, having regard to the fact that Vickers at Barrow-in-Furness have built two atomic submarines without tenders and so are in a favourable position for tendering.
