HC Deb 07 May 1962 vol 659 c7W
Mr. A. Roberts

asked the Parliamentary Secretary for Science what progress has been made with research into the treatment of psoriasis; and if he will publish the names of the hospitals doing research on the treatment of psoriasis.

Mr. R. Thompson

I have been asked to reply.

The cause of psoriasis is unknown so that, in addition to clinical trials of various remedies, a good deal of research is being undertaken into the aetiology of the disease. I regret that I am unable to publish a comprehensive list of hospitals undertaking research into psoriasis, but relevant investigations are being carried out by the Medical Research Council in University Departments, within the National Health Service, and by several pharmaceutical firms.
