§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterThe latest figure available is for December, 1961. As I told the hon. Member for Kirkcaldy Burghs (Mr. Gourlay) on 19th February, that figure is 1,056,000. The figure for December, 1960, is not comparable as it includes some recipients of widow's benefit. But the comparable figure for March, 1961, is 1,079,000.
