ButlerI am informed by the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, who is responsible for appointments to the Metropolitan Police Force, that in the last twelve months eight West Indians applied to join the force, but that none of them was accepted. In accordance with the normal practice, no specific reasons were given to the applicants, who were not thought to have the qualifications required.
