HC Deb 15 March 1962 vol 655 c178W
74. Mr. Gresham Cooke

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what are the present instructions to the Metropolitan Police about the desirability of calling police doctors to give evidence in cases of driving under the influence of drink; and whether, in view of the failure to call medical evidence in recent cases, he proposes to issue any new instruction on the subject.

Mr. R. A. Butler

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to a Question by the hon. and learned Member for West Ham, South (Mr. Elwyn Jones) on 15th February. The Commissioner of Police now has these instructions under urgent review.
