§ 39. Dame Irene Wardasked the Minister of Transport if he will take steps to enable Her Majesty's Government to ensure that in future railway finance adequate pensions for railway super annuitants will be given a high priority.
§ Mr. MarplesResponsibility for pensions of railway superannuitants lies primarily with the British Transport Commission. Under the Transport Bill this responsibility would be transferred to its successors. The British Railways Boar would therefore have to consider the priority to be given to this matter.
