HC Deb 04 July 1962 vol 662 cc43-4W
40. Mrs. White

asked the Minister of Transport if he will make new regulations to ensure that compensation is paid, by increased pensions or otherwise, to employees of the British Transport Commission who are approaching pension age and who can only remain in railway service if they agree to work in another area.

Mr. Marples

No. The provision to be made for employees of the British Transport Commission who become redundant otherwise than as a direct result of statutory reorganisation is covered by agreements negotiated from time to time by the Commission with the unions concerned.
