MacphersonThe decision to end the arrangements for the remission of Purchase Tax was taken on general grounds, and has not been the subject of consultations with leaders of the motor industry or the National Advisory Council. In reaching the decision, account was taken of the considerations which have since been the subject of representations received on behalf of the industry.
