§ Mr. NobleThe estimated average total cost of typical four-apartment council houses for which tenders were approved in 1961 was £2,226. The average rent (before rebates) of all four-apartment permanent local authority houses in Scotland at 28th November, 1961, was £29 8s. 1d. per annum. Figures of rates payable by tenants of various sizes of council houses are not available centrally.
