§ Mr. Willeyasked the Minister of Transport whether he will promote discussions with the Sunderland Borough Council and the Durham County Council about the construction of a new road bridge over the River Wear just west of Sunderland.
§ Mr. MarplesIt would be for the Sunderland Borough Council or the Durham County Council as highway authorities to put forward those road improvement schemes which they regarded as the most urgent in their areas for inclusion in my classified roads programme. Should they make proposals for a new road bridge as suggested, 1 will consider them.
