Captain Litchfieldasked the Minister of Transport if he will state the number of fatal road accidents in which commercial vehicles have been involved during the last 12 months for which figures are available, and the proportion which this figure represents of the total number of fatal road accidents which have occurred during the same period.
§ Mr. MarplesI regret that the number of accidents is not readily available. The number of goods vehicles involved in fatal accidents during the twelve months ended 30th September, 1962 was 2,271. This was 24 per cent. of the total number of vehicles involved in fatal accidents.
